Area Sales Manager

Our client is dedicated to providing innovative solutions in cleaning and maintenance technology. They are expanding their team by adding an Area Sales Manager.

This role is focused on growing margin and revenue within a designated geographical territory to ensure the successful delivery of annual sales plans.

The Role

  • Permanent role – Full time
  • Monday to Friday 8am till 5pm
  • Salary: up to £36k, with a 40% OTE with a fantastic commission structure
  • Location: Ideally based in West Yorkshire
  • Area to cover: Yorkshire
  • Full Driving License required; Company car provided and also a fuel card
  • Customer Management: Responsible for the daily oversight of all direct customers within the assigned region, including servicing end-user sites for key strategic accounts as designated by the Sales Director.
  • Revenue Responsibility: Expected to generate a minimum revenue of £600,000.00 (subject to annual review).
  • Travel Requirements: The role may involve significant travel across the UK and occasional overnight stays away from home.
  • Supervision: Work within the established territory plan, reporting daily to a Regional Sales Manager.
  • Cross-Functional Interaction: Engage with personnel at all levels within customer organizations, from operational staff to senior management and decision-makers.
  • Impact of Decisions: The choices made in this role will greatly affect the organization's reputation and standing with customers.

About You

  • At least 2 years’ selling experience, probably in an FMCG or manufacturing sector
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ethics at all times.
  • Achieve agreed annual targets for revenue and margin.
  • Collaborate with the UK Sales Director to set annual revenue goals.
  • Explore all product and service options to maximise potential revenue.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all product and service offerings.
  • Stay updated on competitor products and highlight key advantages of our offerings.
  • Deliver on-site support to key strategic accounts as requested by the Sales Director.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of the designated territory, identifying current and future sales opportunities.
  • Recognise and develop comprehensive solutions for unmet needs within the local market and customer base.
  • Monitor local market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments, providing insights to the senior management team.
  • Adhere to the organization's policies and procedures, ensuring that decisions are made at the appropriate levels.
  • Effectively use all available sales tools and adhere to reporting policies and procedures.
  • Take initiative for personal development and establish an action plan for growth.
  • Mentor non-customer-facing colleagues to foster a customer-centric culture.
