Commercial Finance Assistant

Juice Personnel are representing a well-established client in York looking for a Commercial Finance Assistant to join their team.
Our client provides accountancy advice to their clients, so the ideal candidate would be a marketing professional in a commercial setting.

This role would be well suited someone who is AAT qualified or working towards the qualification or someone with an interest in Finance. A study support package may be available to the right candidate and subject to a successful probationary period.

Full training is also provided and an induction.

The Role

  • Assist the team of Financial Controllers (FC’s) to help complete monthly tasks that needed for our portfolio of Medical Commercial clients, such as coding and posting the main monthly NHS income statement, submit and reconcile various income claims to the NHS and posting and reconciling salaries and pensions
  • Processing Sales invoice with some credit control
  • Processing Purchase invoices and staff expenses, including correspondence with suppliers
  • Bi-monthly payment runs for suppliers and expenses
  • Weekly bank reconciliation
  • Responsibility for some other balance sheet reconciliations such as Petty Cash and Credit Card transactions
  • Responsibility for Finance email box, ensuring all emails are actioned/responded to or forwarded to the relevant person within a timely manner
  • Support the production of the monthly Management Accounts
  • Assist the FC’s with any ad-hoc analysis required or other administrative duties

About You

  • Attitude and personality are more important than experience for this role
  • Strong attention to detail is essential
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work without supervision
  • Must be able to prioritise own workload
  • Adaptable and comfortable with change.
  • Confident user of Excel formula and functions
  • Clear written and verbal communicator
  • Be a fantastic team player
  • Understanding of double entry
  • Existing knowledge of Xero accounts
  • Knowledge of Dext would be useful but not essential
