Customer Service Representative
IOur client in Barnsley South Yorkshire are looking for a customer service representative to join their busy helpdesk team.
Our client are a Technologies company who provide software and hardware to local authorities and waste management operators in the UK. They provide software for waste, street cleansing and other front-line municipal services. With 1 in 3 UK council waste departments using their systems they are the market leader and continually innovating in both technology and services.
As a customer service representative you will act as a liaison between the company and its customers, provide information related to the products/services, and resolve customers’ problems timely, efficiently, and accurately.
The ultimate goals are to provide an excellent standard of customer service, respond efficiently to the enquiries of customers, and maintain a high customer satisfaction level.

The Role
- Managing incoming calls and emails using a ticketing system
- Identifying and assessing customers’ needs
- Following communication guidelines, procedures and policies
- Handling customer complaints, providing appropriate alternatives/solutions within SLAs, and also following up to ensure a suitable resolution has been found
- Keeping records of interactions with customers
- Providing accurate, complete, and valid information using suitable methods/tools
- Building sustainable and trusting relationships with customers through interactive and open communication
- Raising support tickets to enable tracking and resolution of customer requests
- Investigating and resolving customer questions/issues and closing support tickets
- Escalating enquiries to the appropriate team, where necessary
- Passing customer feedback onto the product or sales team to improve the products
- Maintain technical product knowledge to support team colleagues
About You
- Be patient, empathetic and communicative
- Have a passion to help customers and a willingness to go the extra mile
- Ideally have experience in a customer services role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be diligent and conscientious with excellent attention to detail
- Be able to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment and able to work under pressure
