Juice Personnel are delighted to be working alongside a company in Wakefield company looking for an assistant to help the warehouse manager with day to day running of the warehouse, sorting stock donations and providing shops and eBay with a steady stream of goods to sell.

Working well as part of a motivated team, this is an integral part to the charity’s warehouse function, enabling them to get the donated goods to store on time and in good condition.

The Role

  • Responsible for the sorting of all donated goods including where necessary assisting with house clearance operations.
  • Maintain high standards of organisation and tidiness within the warehouse.
  • Allocating all sorted donated goods between all our retail outlets and eBay.
  • Responsible of opening and closing of the warehouse in the manager’s absence.
  • Assisting volunteers on the donation door whilst receiving donations from members of the public.
  • Supporting corporate teams on volunteering days.
  • Ensuring all areas around the warehouse are kept clean/tidy at all times.
  • Liaising with shops and eBay staff when required.
  • Taking calls from members of the public and recording their details and requirements in the diary, whilst adhering to our GDPR policy.

About You

  • Evidence of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge and interest in fashion, homeware and furniture.
  • Evidence of leadership skills and of working in the voluntary sector or with volunteers
  • Good standard of general education, including GCSE grade C or higher in literacy and numeracy.
  • Evidence of training and ongoing development
  • Ability to form good working relationships with other managers, staff at all levels and volunteers
  • Commercially aware and knowledge within the retail sector
  • Willing to accept instruction and responsibility
  • Ability to think strategically and plan effectively
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure – excellent organiser and timekeeper.
  • Problem solver
  • Ability to work effectively as a team, offering encouragement, motivation and support, with the initiative to work alone when required.
  • Flexible approach and availability – flexibility in the working days, hours will be required.
  • Sympathy with the aims and objectives
