Part Time Credit Controller

Our client, a leading manufacturer and installation business for specialist surfacing products, is expanding its team with a part-time Sales Ledger Clerk who will also handle credit control responsibilities.

Using Sage accounts, this individual will support the accounts team with day-to-day sales ledger duties, while occasionally assisting in other functions within accounts and administration.

The Role

  • Issuing sales invoices promptly to various customers
  • Verifying that all relevant sales paperwork aligns with clients and sales invoices
  • Regularly monitoring client payments and allocating them against the ledger
  • Conducting proactive credit control activities, including regular phone, email, and letter communications to chase payments and resolve outstanding issues
  • Implementing effective credit control strategies to minimise overdue accounts and mitigate potential bad debts
  • Providing timely updates and reports to the accounts manager on credit control performance and outstanding balances
  • Collaborating with the management team to address any concerns and escalate unresolved issues

About You

  • This role would suit someone who has experience within a very busy accounts team but who is maybe looking for part time work over 3 to 4 days per week. Experienced within accounts, most preferably sales ledger, we would like applicants to already have the basic accounting knowledge and be able to use SAGE straight away
  • Strong communication skills are essential, especially verbally as chasing client payments will be a big part of this role
