Technical project officer

Our Client are looking for a project officer to join a busy project and development team.
The company supplies software and hardware to local authorities and waste management operators across the UK. They provide software for waste, street cleansing and other front-line municipal services. With 1 in 5 UK council waste departments using their systems they are the market leader and continually innovating in both technology and services.
They are recruiting for someone to support the project managers in some of the technical aspects. This includes testing processes, reviewing data provided by customers and configuring systems.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently and have excellent communication skills. They will need a logical, careful and consistent approach, with an eye for detail.

Full training will be provided and will include shadowing other members of the team.

The Role

  • Write or review testing documentation
  • Carry out testing and document results
  • Liaise with project staff and developers on issues found
  • Configuring systems for customers
  • Reviewing and checking customer data
  • Taking minutes in meetings

About You

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work under own initiative and pressure
  • Previous testing or project office experience will be an advantage
  • This role may be suitable for flexible working hours.
  • This position will be based in the company head office in Barnsley however offers Hybrid working. 2 days per week in the office (Tuesday and Friday) 3 days per week working from home.
