kaya-jo laing - featherstone rovers
Juice Personnel would like to wish the best of luck to local lass, Kaya-Jo Laing who currently plays for Featherstone Rovers Ladies 19+ team as she embarks on her international career, representing Jamaica in the 2024 World Cup Qualifiers later this year in Florida.
Kaya, who has been playing rugby league since she was 9 years old and who has dual nationality with England and Jamaica, has amazingly been asked to represent Jamaica in their ladies team this year.
Having begun her rugby career for Normanton Knights but then joining Featherstone rovers when she was 15, it was clear she had a natural talent in the sport and was soon officially signed for the 17+ team where she still enjoys playing today.
Having dual heritage and being able to play for both England and Jamaica, Kaya was offered the superb opportunity to represent Jamaica in this years qualifying stages, which she said 'yes' to immediately.
''This is an amazing opportunity to showcase myself to many teams all over the world and also to England. This is literally my dream!'' Kaya said.
Her trip comes at a price and she is currently looking for sponsorships to fund her trip - anything from £5 to £5000 will be appreciated and Juice Personnel are delighted to be one of the many sponsors whose logo's will be displayed on Kaya's travelling jumper!
