The Role
- Permanent Role
- Full Time
- Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Flexible working around core hours)
- £25,000 – £30,000 basic salary depending on experience with a competitive commission structure
- Location – Wakefield/Sheffield (The role requires working at the Wakefield branch for 2-3 days a week, with the remaining 2 days spent at the Sheffield branch)
- Read credit reports and fully understand customer credit profiles.
- Provide high-quality, professional, independent mortgage advice, explaining different types of mortgages available.
- Handle underwriting queries, resolve issues, and produce decisions in principle before passing cases to the case management team.
- Underwrite mortgage applications for a large panel of lenders.
- Manage pipelines and workflows in a fast-paced mortgage environment, ensuring customers are kept up to date.
- Meet departmental SLAs and targets.
- Ensure all regulatory documentation is completed within required timescales.
- Maintain knowledge of the financial services industry and stay updated on mortgage products and lender criteria.
- Work proactively, with flexibility and initiative, while also being a team player.
- Uphold company values and promote the brand effectively.
- Embed Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) within all work.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required.
About You
- Experience in the whole of market mortgage sector is desirable but not essential.
- CeMAP qualification is a must.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage workloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
